Out of sync - last weekend roundup!

Saturday:
In the morning did the usual ballet run with Florence. At lunchtime, Nigel phoned to say he'd got a spare ticket for the football, so tagged along.
The game was pretty good (although it was a 0-0 draw) but it was a good laugh to be out with Nigel. He droppped me off at about 5, and quick change ready for going into Derby to watch a production of Godspell. As a show I really like this one as there is a lot of room for additions in the script. Tasha took a few ideas away with her for when she and Sharon produce it later in the year. The music is really good and the production we saw had a lot of young people in, which was ideal for the show. Afterwards (as there were a lot of us went) we went into town for a drink and a natter. 8 of us then came back to ours for a Chinese from Lee Kitchen. Rang it through on the way home from Derby, and was pretty convinced that they wouldn't beleive the order (as it was so big) and we'd have to wait ages when we got there, but it was all cooked and in a big box waiting for us! Stayed up far to late chatting and drinking, got to bed at about 1.30

Sunday:
Nate work up early, as is typical when I've had a late night. Florence took him downstairs and they had a drink and watched some telly. When we rose from bed, still tired, we went up to the caravan to check things out ready for the visit 2006 use. Everyone got back into the whole thing as soon as we saw it! At lunchtime Florence went to a party at the new Creative Cafe in Tutbury - she really enjoyed it. Sunday evening Tasha had to go to rehearsal, so I just chilled out. Watched the new episode of 24 - WOW!! They managed to kill of 2, and seriously mame another of the main characters in the first five minutes, and that was me hooked. Was a little dubious how they were going to get him back into all the action, but I think the plot worked really well. Too tired to watch the end of the second episode, went to bed.

Monday:
Up really early to get the 0638 train from Derby to St.Pancras. I like the whole city feel, but reminded me of the recent bombings as I arrived at King's cross and passed through Russel Square on my way out to Cheswick. I'd not got a great deal of information about the support I was supposed to give when I got there, but fortunately for me I'd seen the issue before and got it all fixed and running within 5 minutes. I then had the dilema of staying to see if I could help with anything or buggering off into the city centre for shopping and art. The guys there seemed a little embarassed about the situation so I decided to stay, and went through the rest of their demo app. Headed back to Kings Cross at just after 1 after having a great New York Deli sandwich!! Arrived at St Pancras just in time to walk straight onto a train home (surely my luck would run out soon!!). It did, just outside Bedford we stopped for "an indefinite delay" due to trackside equipment failure. Here we go I thought - but it was only stopped for about 15 minutes, and by the time we got into Derby it was down to 5 minutes - so I was home for 5.15!! Packed up ready for a spell in Hull.

Rough platform fire.

The rough platform, which we are working on had an incident this afternoon. It seems that there was a fire and possible small explosion on the BP jacket. There was afrantic time as people called to check that friends and relatives weren't among the casualties.

The plant has been demanned to essential levels and has stopped producing for the time being

Haven't been able to access myWeb2.0 ALL DAY!!! Hope that it hasn't just been pulled, but tried from a couple of machines, since just after lunch, and nothing.

Chris has done a great job in archiving the mellows photos into Flickr. There seems to be a few of the more recent shows missing (I hope they are just waiting for uploading).

Wednesday

Well back into SIL sessions yesterday, so it was a bit of a hit to the brain. The Wormington office was a very multi-cultural place yesterday!! And the office was packed, Centrica, NGT and Heathrow all in for big meetings. We also had a sniff of another 3-5 years work taking us till at least 2010. All this sold without a sales man, but the sales man will get his commission!!! (I think this stinks as its us that got the job, and the last phase for that matter). Adrian and I still managed to get away for a walk at lunchtime, so at least I got some air.

Tasha out at all kinds of meetings last night, had an early night myself - been really tired lately. Looking forward to my weekend away next weekend (hopefully going to try and just before lunchtime on Friday, as the kids are on 1/2 term).

Wonder if Mark is back next week?

Tuesday (for Mark)

Well out of the office today, so unfortunately can't answer Mark's burning question about Mr Dunn's state of mind. Travelled to Manchester for a techy training workshop on WinCC Flexible. It really is a fantastic product and I thing that PCS7 and normal WinCC would benefit from many of its easy to use features. As "staff" I had to sit at the back until it was clear that someone wasn't turning up, no lunch was allocated for me, and I wasn't allowed to enter the draw for a Siemens MP3 player (thats the first time I've ever experienced the small print of a competition first hand!!) I did manage to blag a "mini mouse" though.

Went circuit training with Martin in the evening and then for a couple of pints at one of my old haunts The New Inn.

Forgot to mention I did my bathroom floor lining at the weekend, a bitch of a task, but its done now.

Sounds like Mark's hotel is a bit naff.

Busy Birthday Weekend

Have been really busy this weekend with birthday celebrations (PS Happy birthday Mark!) we actually manged to go out by ourselves on Friday and went to the spread eagle in the village for a bottle of wine, then onto the Brookhouse for a lovely meal. We were the only people there and its was weirding me out a little. On Saturday the day was frantic with the usual taxi-ing to ballet and all the present opening etc. Managed to squeeze in a big fry up (Florence's request!) In the evening the 4 of us went to La Roccona and had a wonderful Italian. Nate and Florence were reallly good and Nate was chatting away to the waiter!

OK office gossip for Mark, none really. Steve in a joyful mood. No major crisis to report, although there was a "speaker phone" call just before I left last night with Steve Dunn, Stuart, Beardy and Pearson. I'm assuming that something cracked off at Johnsons. I will try and keep you up to date while you're away Mark. Hang in there buddy.
